Guillermo Del Toro's Fantasy

Guillermo Del Toro Gomez is a Mexican Filmmaker, Author, Actor and a Special Effects Makeup Artist. And of cause he has won Academy Awards for his films. Del Toro is known as a Fantasy filmmaker and a low budget filmmaker all over the world. And as an author, Del Toro has written many novels and in 2016 he created the Netflix animated series "Troll hunters".

The First Feature Film 

The first feature film of Del Toro is "Cronos" which has won many Awards including Ariel Awards. The synopsis of the story is "Antique dealer Jesus Gris stumbles across Cronos, a 400 year old scarab that, when it latches onto him, grants him youth and eternal life, but also a thirst for blood. As Jesus enjoys his newfound vitality, he's unaware that a dying old man, Dieter De La Guardian, has sent his nephew, angel, to find the scarab and bring it back to him. But Jesus will not give immortality up easily, even risking the life of his orphan granddaughter.


Guillermo Del Toro's second film is "Mimic'' is a Horror / Sci - Fi movie released on 1997. The box office records for this movie is 25.5 Million USD. The synopsis of the film is about "Dr.Susan, an entomologist, had invented a mutant insect to kill disease - bearing cockroaches. Now, the insect ha evolved into a monster that threatens to exterminate mankind.

 The Devil's Backbone

Guillermo Del Toro's third film is ''The Devil's Backbone'' which was nominated for many Awards. The film was released on 2001, and the synopsis of the movie is ''10 year old Carlos, after losing his father, attends at the Santa Lucia School, which shelter orphans of Republican militia and politician, and is take in by the steely head mistress, Carmen and the kindly professor, Caesars. Soon after his arrival, Carlos has a run-in with the violent caretaker, Jacinto. Gradually, Carlos uncovers the secrets of the school, including the youthful ghost that wanders the grounds.

Blade 2

Guillermo Del Toro made "Blade 2" which was a huge success and released on 2002. The synopsis of the movie is "A rare mutation gives birth to a new vampire community called reapers, who attack both humans and vampires. Blade, along with an elite vampire force, is asked to wipe out the Reaper's population.

Hell Boy

The fifth film of Del Toro is "Hell Boy" which opened new era to fantasy film making. The movie released on 2004, and the synopsis is "Towards the end of WWII, the Nazi's resort to Black Magic and conjure a demonic - looking being called Hell Boy. But the allies capture him and he grews up to fighting against evil rather than for it.

Pan's Labyrinth

"Pan's Labyrinth" the Fantasy / War movie by Guillermo Del Toro, released on 2006 which has won many awards including Academy Awards. The movie is about "Ofelia moves with her mother to her stepfather's house. At night, a fairy leads her to a faun informs her that she is a princess and she needs to participate in three tasks to prove her royalty".

Hell Boy II

After the success of Hell Boy first movie Guillermo made the sequel of it, "Hell Boy II : The Golden Army" which was initially released on 2008 in USA.

Pacific Rim

"Pacific Rim'' is an Action / Sci - Fi movie directed by Del Toro, released on 2013 which was a huge box office success. The movie is about "Government assumes Jaegers, robotic war machines battling the Kaijus, to be ineffective. However, stacker Pentecost's team believes that only the Jaegers can save the world from destruction.

Crimson Peak

"Crimson Peak" is a Horror / Mystery movie made by Del Toro released on 2015 in Spain. The synopsis of the movie is "Edith ignores her father's warning and marries Sir Thomas Sharpe. When she arrives at the Sharpe mansion, she learns about her husband's secrets and realises that the place is teeming with ghosts. 

The Shape Of  Water

Guillermo Del Toro's last movie was "The Shape Of Water" which has won many Academy Awards including "Best Picture". This movie was released on 2017. The movie is about "Elisa, a lonely Janitor, stumbles upon an amphibious creature that is held captive in a secret research facility. She then develops a unique relationship with the creature.

Guillermo Del Toro's new upcoming movie is "Pinocchio" which is made for Netflix, and It is going to release in 2021. Guillermo's other upcoming movie is "Nightmare Alley" which is presented by Searchlight Pictures.
